6-A State Swimming and Diving Championship Meet 


Congratulations to the Mill Creek Swim Team for their OUTSTANDING
performance at the Georgia 6-A State Swimming and Diving Championship Meet!
The girls' team placed 9th and the boys' team placed 17th.  There were many
outstanding performances!

Katherine Parker placed 1st in the 100 back defending her state championship with an amazing time of 54.09 setting a new Gwinnett County and lowering her own School record and earning AA-A (Automatic All-American)!  Chris Pierce placed 4th in the 100 back with an outstanding time of 50.76 lowered his own School record and earning AA-C (All-American Consideration).  The 200 Medley Relay team of Katherine Parker, Lydia Evans, Isabelle Andrews, Sarah Lowry placed 3rd and set a new School record in a blistering 1:47.14 earning AA-C (All-American Consideration).

Our relays swam extremely well: Chris Pierce, Collins Sainovich, Sebastian Rodriguez, Will Jordan (Medley Relay 1:40.37 - 12th); Anna Guynes, Tori Basic, Bailey Williams, Sarah Lowry (200 Free Relay 1:41.86 - 14th); Parker Myers, Nikos Tzimourtas, Sebastian Rodriguez, Brian Smith (200 Free Relay 1:33.09 - 23rd); Isabelle Andrews, Tori Basic, Bailey Williams, Katherine Parker (400 Free Relay 3:40.50 - 13th). Will Jordan, Nikos Tzimourtas, Brian Smith, Chris Pierce (400 Free Relay 3:15.80 - 13th).

The following swimmers and divers scored in finals: Katherine Parker (100 fly - 55.92 AA-C - 5th, 100 back - 54.09 AA-A - 1st); Chris Pierce (200 free - 1:41.84 - 4th, 100 back - 50.76 AA-C - 4th);  Isabelle Andrews (100 fly - 57.63 - 8th, 100 back - 1:00.13 - 20th); Ambria D'Alonzo (diving - 363.25 - 10th); Sebastian Rodriguez (100 fly - 53.69 - 17th);  Lydia Evans (100 breast - 1:08.39 - 18th); and Will Jordan (100 free - 48.85 - 20th).

A special congratulations to our outstanding seniors that competed in their last High School meet:  Anna Guynes, Will Jordan, Sarah Lowry, Katherine Parker, Robyn Peterson, Ally Simm, and Nikos Tzimourtas.  Thanks for all of your hard work and dedication over the past 4 years!  Your contributions are greatly appreciated and you will be greatly missed!!!!!

A very special thanks goes to our outstanding assistant coaches:  Laurel Christopher, Carly Cantrell, Brittany Swanson, and Heidi Creed for their hard work and dedication throughout the year!  These coaches worked hard encouraging, motivating, instructing, training, and supporting each and every swimmer and diver!  They deserve a great deal of the credit for our outstanding season.

Also thanks to the Sheri Bevil for her outstanding communication throughout the year, Elizabeth Jordan for all of the photographs throughout the season, Bill Parker and the entire board for their outstanding support of the program, and all of the wonderful parents that pitched in and helped throughout the season!!!

Congratulations to all of the swimmers and divers for their outstanding spirit and sportsmanship!!!  The team represented their school and community admirably!  The team banquet will be Wednesday, 2 March 2016 in the Mill Creek Commons at 6:30 PM.

I am speaking for the staff when I say that words cannot express how proud we are of all the athletes!  It was an extremely memorable season! Way to go HAWKS!!!!

County Meet Results

Congratulations to the Mill Creek Swim Team for their OUTSTANDING performance last night in the Gwinnett County Championship Meet!!!!  The girls' team placed 3rd with 775.50 points and the boys' team placed 5th with 616 points.  There were many outstanding performances!

Katherine Parker placed 1st in the 100 back and set a new Gwinnett County Meet and School record (55.22)!  Chris Pierce placed 1st in the 200 free with a time of 1:42.99.  Earlier in the meet Ambria D'Alonzo placed 1st in diving and set a new school record with a score of 413.95!

Ambria D'Alonzo places 1st at Gwinnett County Championship with a new school record of 413.95 (breaking her previous record by 66 pts). Reecy Brown (state qualifier) placed 6th. Reagan Cox placed 11th and Kinsey Miller placed 18th.
